We are seeking a detail-oriented, dependable Laboratory Support Services Specialist to join our clinical laboratory team in Everett, WA. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring the timely accessioning of lab orders, proper specimen distribution, and seamless communication with clinical staff.

Position Highlights

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (No weekends, no holidays)

Contract Length: 13 weeks (High potential to convert to permanent hire based on performance)

Key Responsibilities

Specimen Processing: Receive, verify, sort, and prepare blood, urine, and other biological specimens according to strict protocols. Centrifuge, aliquot, label, and load specimens onto laboratory equipment.

Data Entry & Systems: Utilize EHR (Electronic Health Records) and LIS (Laboratory Information Systems) for accurate data entry, tracking, and scanning external results.

Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for providers and clinical staff regarding test ordering, requirements, and resolving inquiries with reference labs.

Documentation: Complete reference lab forms, log incident reports, and route data properly.

Site Maintenance: Adhere to all safety/HIPAA protocols, record equipment temperatures, defrost freezers, and maintain a clean environment. Participate in Lean process improvement activities.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Coursework in medical laboratory technology or biology is highly preferred.

Experience: 1–2 years of experience working in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting is preferred.

Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).

Physical Demands: Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs, stand or sit for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment while wearing required PPE.
Preferred Skills & Attributes

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and EHR/LIS systems (Experience with EPIC is a major plus).

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated comfort in a clinical lab workflow with the ability to troubleshoot and think critically.

Proven reliability, stable work history, and a track record of task ownership.
