Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Front Office Coordinator to manage the end-to-end patient intake and documentation process. The successful candidate will serve as the bridge between patients, insurance providers, and medical staff, ensuring that all clinical data is captured accurately and that all administrative requirements, such as authorizations and referrals, are met before treatment begins.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain required medical information and schedule consultation and follow-up appointments.
- Ascertain the need for pre-certifications/pre-authorizations and referrals for treatment, and follow up appropriately.
- Receive patients and verify insurance and referral information.
- Obtain all relevant information from patients and all records from referring physicians, and upload documents into the EMR.
- Request and receive medical reports of prior studies, and file/log them accordingly.
- Fax reports to other physicians and/or facilities as requested.
- Perform all duties in a friendly and courteous manner, offering assistance to physicians, patients, families, visitors, and co-workers.
- Extend courtesy and consideration to others in all interpersonal relationships, including telephone contacts.
- Demonstrate the ability to respond to instruction from peers or superiors to complete department tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to determine the proper time to discuss differences in work strategy.
- Perform other departmental duties as prescribed by supervisory personnel.
- Assist in the performance of non-technical tasks within the department.
Qualifications
- Bilingual - Spanish preferred.
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Beacon, a specific part of EPIC relative to Oncology.
- Experience with prior authorization/insurance processes preferred.
