Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to provide exceptional support in a pharmacy setting. The role involves assisting pharmacists, preparing medications, and ensuring compliance with all pharmacy regulations. The ideal candidate will work closely with patients to manage profiles and facilitate insurance processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Medication Preparation: Assist pharmacists in the accurate labeling and packaging of prescriptions.
- Specialized Compounding: Support the preparation of non-sterile (and/or sterile) compounded medications following strict formulas and safety protocols.
- Patient Coordination: Manage patient profiles, intake forms, and insurance adjudications to ensure a seamless experience.
- Laboratory Maintenance: Maintain a sterile and organized laboratory environment, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and cleaned according to regulatory standards.
- Inventory Control: Track chemical and supply inventory levels, ensuring specialized ingredients are ordered and rotated properly.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to USP <795> and <797> standards (as applicable), as well as state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician license/registration in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
Experience
- Previous experience in a compounding or specialty pharmacy environment is highly preferred but not required for candidates with a strong desire to learn.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
