Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team, playing a crucial role in patient intake, supporting physician examinations, performing laboratory services, and ensuring excellent care coordination. The Medical Assistant will also monitor workflow, oversee clinic operations, guide staff, conduct training sessions, and manage resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Rooms patients, captures vital signs, and documents history, allergies, and the primary reason for the visit.
- Physician Support: Assists with clinical examinations and medical procedures while maintaining open communication to ensure quality outcomes.
- Laboratory Services: Performs waived lab tests and handles the collection and preparation of laboratory specimens.
- Care Coordination: Audits ordered tests to ensure results are received and followed up on in a timely manner.
- Workflow Management: Monitors physician schedules and organizes patient flow to minimize wait times and ensure timely visits.
- Clinic Oversight: Serves as the primary point of contact for daily operations, resolving immediate issues or escalating them to leadership as needed.
- Staff Guidance: Leads front-line staff in day-to-day operations and delegates administrative duties to office personnel.
- Training & Compliance: Conducts staff training sessions, reviews patient care protocols, and ensures adherence to regulatory, billing, and quality standards.
- Resource Management: Monitors nursing supplies and equipment functionality, reporting maintenance needs or shortages to leadership.
- Customer Service: Actively participates in providing outstanding service and maintaining respectful relationships with patients and colleagues.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assistant Certification (unless previous Urology experience, then open to Medical Assistant Diploma)
- BLS Certification
- 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience
