Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Cook to join their culinary team. This role involves supporting kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly, adhering to standardized recipes, and maintaining rigorous kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will ensure that food handling and storage comply with all safety regulations, contributing to efficient and collaborative kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support kitchen staff with food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly
- Follow standardized recipes and portion guidelines to ensure meal consistency
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout each shift
- Properly handle, label, store, and rotate food items in accordance with safety regulations
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures
- Clean kitchen tools, prep stations, cooking equipment, and storage areas
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to leadership
- Help ensure meals are prepared in a timely and organized manner
- Adhere to all workplace safety, hygiene, and food handling procedures
- Collaborate with team members to maintain smooth kitchen operations
Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Experience
- Previous experience in food service, hospitality, community dining, or institutional kitchens
- Familiarity with large-volume meal preparation

- Exposure to health and wellness or nonprofit environments
Skills
- Basic understanding of kitchen prep and cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Education
- Food Handler Certification or willingness to obtain one
Additional Requirements
- Consistent schedule: Wednesday - Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Saturday - Sunday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM.
- Flexibility to work one weekend day is highly preferred.
