Job Summary
As a Records Technician with our client, your primary focus will be managing medical records by providing essential documentation to internal and external customers as authorized. The role involves processing various medical record-related tasks efficiently and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Uploading backlogged documents and other essential tasks.
- Scanning and uploading documents into Epic.
- Working with batches scanned by clinics.
- Answering phone calls and downloading faxes from Kno2.
- Breaking down old charts for scanning or destruction.
- Processing records for appointments, messages, lab reports, and dictations promptly.
- Maintaining control of medical records per established policies.
- Collaborating effectively with departments, management, and medical staff.
- Contributing to departmental performance improvement goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 20lbs.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in medical records.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred skills: proficiency in EPIC, bilingual in Spanish, and skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
