Job Summary

Our client is seeking an Admixture Technician responsible for compounding and admixing medications under physician supervision. The role requires verification of order completeness, managing medication inventories, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Compounds and admixes medications under physician supervision.
• Verifies order completeness, patient data, and physician authorization.
• Confirms insurance approval prior to admixture.
• Prepares drugs following OSHA, department, and interoffice guidelines.
• Calculates dosages using metric and apothecary conversions.
• Manages indigent patient and drug assistance programs.
• Conducts weekly controlled substance counts and maintains records.
• Updates drug information, MSDS sheets, and temperature logs.
• Disposes of hazardous and non-hazardous waste per safety protocols.
• Sanitizes hoods and admixture areas to maintain sterility standards.
• Monitors medication expiration dates and quality assurance metrics.
• Tracks medication control data and lot numbers.
• Oversees inventory, including receiving, shelving, and ordering supplies.
• Performs labeling, billing, and pharmacy system data entry.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Sterile Mixing Experience
• 2+ years of Experience
• Chemo Experience Preferred
• IV Certification Preferred
• Certified Pharm Tech Certificate or State Pharmacy Board Requirement Preferred

Schedule/Shift

M-F, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
