Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant to join our client's fast-paced Pain Management and Sports Medicine clinic. This role is vital in supporting a team of four physicians by ensuring high-quality clinical care and efficient patient flow for individuals managing chronic pain and athletic injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Support: Room patients, collect vital signs, and update medical histories in the EHR system.
- Procedure Assistance: Assist providers with specialized procedures, including joint injections, nerve blocks, and minor clinical tasks, while maintaining a sterile field.
- Diagnostic Testing: Perform and document routine diagnostic tests such as EKGs and urinalysis as required by the treatment plan.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on post-procedure care, treatment plans, and specialized exercise or recovery instructions.
- Inventory & Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and stock exam rooms with the necessary medical supplies and instruments to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Administrative Coordination: Manage prescription faxes, coordinate with laboratories, and assist with insurance documentation or prior authorizations.
Qualifications
- 2 years of outpatient experience
- CMA preferred - not required
- Ortho/Pain Management experience preferred
- BLS certification preferred
