Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join their team. This role involves prescription data entry, outreach to providers and pharmacies, and translation of medical instructions for patients. The position requires effective management of a high-volume workflow in a non-traditional pharmacy environment, providing a unique blend of administrative and pharmacy duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Prescription Data Entry: Accurately input prescription data into the pharmacy management system, ensuring high-quality standards are met for every entry.
- Provider & Pharmacy Outreach: Conduct professional outbound calls to physician offices to secure new prescriptions and coordinate with external pharmacies to facilitate prescription transfers.
- Sig Code Translation: Utilize your pharmacy knowledge to translate complex medical "sig codes" into clear, concise instructions for patients.
- Queue Management: Efficiently manage a high-volume "work list" or queue of scripts, prioritizing tasks to meet daily processing goals.
- Workflow Flexibility: Maintain a high level of productivity in a rotating workflow environment; you should be comfortable spending some days dedicated entirely to data entry and others focused heavily on outbound phone coordination.
- Inter-professional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the facility, doctors' offices, and other pharmacies to ensure a seamless medication fulfillment process.
