Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Community Health Worker for the Arkansas Independent Assessment Program. This role involves administering independent assessments, communicating with sensitivity, organizing tasks to meet deadlines, and travelling daily to various appointment locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer field-based independent assessments to beneficiaries.
- Travel daily to appointments at provider offices, beneficiary homes, and community locations.
- Communicate in a culturally sensitive manner to assessed individuals.
- Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines with minimal assistance.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors to solve complex problems.
- Participate as part of a team environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Experience in mental health counseling or working with developmentally disabled beneficiaries.
- A current, unrestricted driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience meeting the qualifications of a Qualified Developmental Disability Professional (QDDP) preferred.
- Ability to navigate a Windows-based environment and utilize Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Experience
- Experience working directly with the mental health or developmentally disabled populations is preferred.
Skills
- Technical skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and internet searches.
- Soft skills: Effective communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
Additional Requirements
- Physical ability to transport 5-10 pounds and respond quickly to sounds.
- Ability to drive long distances, navigate local roads, and adapt to various weather conditions.
- Drug test and TB test required.
