Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Medical Secretary to support its Outpatient Cardiology department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong administrative and patient-facing experience in a fast-paced clinical setting. The Medical Secretary will play a key role in ensuring efficient office operations while delivering a high-quality patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to cardiology providers and clinical staff
• Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
• Answer and triage high-volume phone calls
• Verify insurance and patient demographics
• Maintain and update patient records in Epic EMR
• Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-ups
• Assist with patient check-in/check-out as needed
• Manage provider calendars and support daily clinic workflow

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s or higher preferred
• 1–2+ years of medical secretary, medical office, or administrative experience required
• Experience in cardiology or a specialty clinic preferred
• Proficiency with Epic EMR strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, patient-facing environment

Skills

• Fluency in Spanish

Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5

Location: Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY
