Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Secretary to support its Outpatient Cardiology department. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong administrative and patient-facing experience in a fast-paced clinical setting. The Medical Secretary will play a key role in ensuring efficient office operations while delivering a high-quality patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to cardiology providers and clinical staff
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Answer and triage high-volume phone calls
- Verify insurance and patient demographics
- Maintain and update patient records in Epic EMR
- Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-ups
- Assist with patient check-in/check-out as needed
- Manage provider calendars and support daily clinic workflow
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or higher preferred
- 1–2+ years of medical secretary, medical office, or administrative experience required
- Experience in cardiology or a specialty clinic preferred
- Proficiency with Epic EMR strongly preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume, patient-facing environment

Hours: Monday - Friday 9-5
Location: Upper West Side, Manhattan, NY
