Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. This role focuses on providing value-based care to the senior population. The Medical Assistant will work alongside a doctor, conducting patient intakes, assisting with examinations, performing phlebotomy, and more, with the goal of building strong relationships with patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs and medical histories.
- Performing examinations and routine screenings.
- Carrying out phlebotomy and other routine lab tasks.
- Engaging with patients, listening and reporting findings to the PCP.
- Handling patient communication, including phone messages and returning calls.
- Administering first aid, changing dressings, and applying bandages.
- Providing health coaching and performing CPR when necessary.
- Rooming members, taking vitals, performing EKGs, and administering injections.
- Conducting diabetic retinopathy and other screenings.
- Assisting with administrative work and quality measures.
- Completing stat referrals when urgent.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- BLS for healthcare providers required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Experience with EClinicalWorks or similar EMR systems is preferred.
- Ability to work with a diverse population.
Experience
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- 6+ months of phlebotomy experience is highly desired.
- Experience working with the elderly patient population is preferred.
Skills
- Strong skills in phlebotomy are essential.
- ECW experience is a plus.
- Comfortable adapting to changes in a growing organization.
- Team player who is ready to learn and take initiative.
- Punctuality and readiness for daily meetings.
