Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to join their team. This role focuses on providing value-based care to the senior population. The Medical Assistant will work alongside a doctor, conducting patient intakes, assisting with examinations, performing phlebotomy, and more, with the goal of building strong relationships with patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs and medical histories.
• Performing examinations and routine screenings.
• Carrying out phlebotomy and other routine lab tasks.
• Engaging with patients, listening and reporting findings to the PCP.
• Handling patient communication, including phone messages and returning calls.
• Administering first aid, changing dressings, and applying bandages.
• Providing health coaching and performing CPR when necessary.
• Rooming members, taking vitals, performing EKGs, and administering injections.
• Conducting diabetic retinopathy and other screenings.
• Assisting with administrative work and quality measures.
• Completing stat referrals when urgent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
• Experience with EClinicalWorks or similar EMR systems is preferred.
• Ability to work with a diverse population.

Experience

• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• 6+ months of phlebotomy experience is highly desired.
• Experience working with the elderly patient population is preferred.

Skills

• Strong skills in phlebotomy are essential.
• ECW experience is a plus.
• Comfortable adapting to changes in a growing organization.
• Team player who is ready to learn and take initiative.
• Punctuality and readiness for daily meetings.
