Job Title: Accounts Receivable (AR) Representative – Healthcare
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Representative to support a busy healthcare office. This role is responsible for verifying patient insurance information, ensuring accuracy of incoming patient data, and supporting billing and front-office operations. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong insurance knowledge who enjoys a mix of administrative and patient-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient insurance coverage (including Medicare and Medicaid plans) and accurately enter information into internal systems
- Review and validate new patient demographic and insurance details
- Follow up on outstanding or legacy AR claims to ensure timely resolution
- Handle inbound calls (approximately 15–20 per day) related to billing, payments, and insurance inquiries
- Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed, including patient check-in and support at the front window
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the system
- Collaborate with team members to support overall office operations and patient experience
Required Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of Medicare vs. Medicaid, including replacement plans
- Previous experience in accounts receivable, insurance verification, or medical billing
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Experience working with payer portals and insurance websites
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM
Compensation:
- $20.00 – $23.00/hour (based on experience)
