Job Title: Phlebotomy Technician
Location: Franklin, TN (On-Site Clinical Office)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (hours may extend to 5:00 PM based on patient volume)

Job Summary
The Phlebotomy Technician is responsible for performing high-quality specimen collection and processing within a dedicated clinical office setting. This role requires a confident, detail-oriented professional who can work independently while delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.
This position is based at a partner clinic in the Franklin area and supports both family practice and endocrinology providers, offering a steady but manageable patient volume.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Collection & Patient Care
- Greet patients and ensure a professional, welcoming experience
- Perform venipuncture and collect non-blood specimens (urine, fecal) accurately and efficiently
- Explain procedures clearly to reduce patient anxiety
- Follow all safety protocols for handling and disposing of biohazard materials and sharps
Technical Processing & Data Entry
- Accurately enter patient demographics, insurance, and test orders into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Verify test orders, diagnosis codes, and patient information with clinical staff
- Process specimens (centrifuging, splitting, freezing) according to test requirements
- Label and package specimens for transport while maintaining proper temperature and handling standards
Administrative & Facility Support
- Maintain daily logs and patient records
- Assist with monthly reporting and volume tracking
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and data entry
- Keep workspace clean and organized; report maintenance or supply needs
- Assist with inventory counts and supply management
Professionalism & Compliance
- Follow all PPE and safety protocols
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff
- Uphold professional appearance and conduct at all times
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED (as required by state/lab guidelines)
- At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of specimen collection and processing
- Ability to work independently and manage patient flow
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable using larger needles (no butterfly needles used at this site)
- Reliable transportation
Preferred
- Phlebotomy Certification
- Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or similar clinical training

- Moderate patient volume with a mix of routine and specialized testing
