Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist responsible for overseeing the billing processes, ensuring accuracy in coding for plastic surgery operations, and managing revenue cycle operations efficiently. The role also involves patient financial services, including providing cost estimates and resolving insurance discrepancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve coding corrections and manage payer-specific documentation requirements.
- Perform manual surgical coding and manage charge entry.
- Monitor billing workflows and collaborate with clinical teams for timely billing.
- Secure and document prior authorizations across various payer mixes.
- Provide surgical cost estimates and resolve insurance benefit discrepancies.
- Manage A/R worklists to handle claim corrections, resubmissions, and denial appeals.
- Research overpayments and facilitate insurance refund workflows.
- Serve as a resource for billing queries via phone, email, and help desk.
- Support leadership in data reporting and process optimization.
- Mentor new team members and facilitate team development and training.
- Contribute to departmental workshops and project days for operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of Medical Billing or Revenue Cycle Management experience.
- Proficiency in coding, authorization processes, and payer billing guidelines.
- Preferred: Dermatology or specialty experience.
