Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for providing clinical support and administrative coordination within an outpatient OBGYN office. The role involves patient intake, clinical triage, lab work, procedure preparation, and authorization management, among other duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Intake: Room patients, obtain accurate vital signs, and update medical histories.
- Clinical Triage: Assist in screening patient calls and portal messages.
- Lab Work: Perform basic point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
- Injections: Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections under provider supervision.
- Procedure Prep: Set up exam rooms for OB/GYN procedures and assist during exams.
- Authorization Management: Initiate and track Prior Authorizations for medications and procedures.
- Medical Documentation: Manage FMLA and Disability paperwork.
- Pharmacy Liaison: Process prescription refill requests via EMR.
- Patient Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for patient inquiries.
- Records Management: Maintain digital patient charts adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certification: CMA or RMA Required (NPCE not accepted)
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in a medical office setting; Women’s Health or OB/GYN experience is preferred
- EPIC experience is preferred
- Detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills to manage paperwork
- High level of empathy and discretion; ability to handle sensitive topics professionally
Schedule/Shift
Monday-Friday: 8am-4:30pm
