Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Account Representative to handle insurance claims and ensure timely and complete reimbursement. The successful candidate will coordinate and process payments, troubleshoot adjudication issues specific to Indiana, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced, medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Document claim files and request clinical records.
- Review medical bills and A/R reports.
- Engage in communications with payers to resolve local coverage determination issues.
- Monitor claim status through various insurance portals.
- Correct and resubmit claims ensuring compliance with billing guidelines.
- Identify payer trends and notify management of shifts.
- Process appeals for denied or delinquent claims as per laws.
- Navigate and resolve complex denials for reimbursement.
- Prepare and review financial reports; update data discrepancies.
- Ensure PHI is handled per HIPAA and state privacy statutes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a medical billing or health insurance role preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows-based applications.
- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and requirements.
- Experience with systems like Nextgen PM and Epic is preferred.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in medical billing or health insurance.
- Specific experience in Indiana insurance.
