Job Description
Medix is seeking a skilled and compassionate CT Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team for a travel assignment with one of our premier outpatient clients. In this role, you will primarily operate advanced CT equipment, including GE 750 scanners, to produce high-quality diagnostic images. While the primary focus of this position is Computed Tomography, you may be called upon to assist with X-ray imaging as needed to support the facility's orthopedic and sports medicine departments.
This position is ideal for a proactive clinician who thrives in a high-volume environment and enjoys working within a specialized, multi-modality team. We are looking for an adaptable professional who takes pride in their work and is eager to hit the ground running.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT scans in a busy outpatient setting, including pre-procedure preparation and scanning.
- Operate GE 750 scanners (2-3 scanners on-site) and navigate Epic EMR and Centra PACS systems.
- Support the X-ray department on an as-needed basis to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Manage a combined modality volume of approximately 50–60 patients divided among a team of three technologists.
- Collaborate closely with a large team of nearly 20 technologists and supervisors to maintain optimal image clarity and patient safety.
- Maintain a professional, supportive environment for patients undergoing diagnostic imaging.
Requirements
- Experience: Strong proficiency with GE CT equipment (specifically GE 750 or similar) is required. Outpatient and orthopedic experience is highly preferred.
- Skills: Ability to handle a busy workflow, manage multiple scanners, and adapt quickly to specific facility protocols.
- Technical: Familiarity with Epic EMR and PACS systems.
- Credentials: Must hold active ARRT (CT) certification, a valid New York state license, and a current BLS certification.
- Attributes: Proactive "team player" attitude, receptive to coaching, and capable of taking initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Sports Medicine imaging.
- Strong background in multi-modality workflows (CT/X-Ray).
