Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Customer Support Specialist to manage healthcare benefit verification and accounts receivable tasks. The primary responsibilities include phone-based client support, reviewing benefit verification responses, and handling billing inquiries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance and client account management.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle healthcare benefit verification and accounts receivable.
- Review client benefit verification responses.
- Manage client and provider billing inquiries and escalate as necessary.
- Reprocess and submit insurance claims for payment.
- Resolve outstanding client balances through claims reconciliation with Managed Care payors.
- Insurance verification for physician claims using 1500 claim forms.
- Utilize the internal EMR system for billing and claims creation.
- Experience working with major commercial payors.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of insurance plans and contractual payment arrangements.
- 1+ years of direct customer service experience in healthcare or related field.
- 1+ years of experience in insurance collections, including benefit verification, billing, and appeals.
- Experience in accounts receivable management.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience with EMR systems.
- Preferred: Behavioral health experience, experience in a start-up or remote environments, familiarity with Availity E-pro.
Experience
- 1+ years in direct customer service within the healthcare industry.
- 1+ years in insurance collections, including benefit verification and billing.
- Accounts receivable management experience is essential.
Skills
- Technical proficiency in EMR systems and Excel.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
