Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Therapist to join their team. The primary responsibilities include delivering comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments, facilitating therapy sessions, and developing individualized treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive mental health and substance use assessments to determine appropriate level of care and treatment needs
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on behavioral change, coping skills, and recovery support
- Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients
- Monitor and evaluate client progress toward established goals and adjust treatment approaches as needed
- Utilize evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, in all client interactions
- Provide psychoeducational groups related to mental health, substance use, and life skills
- Complete all clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner, including assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries
- Coordinate care with families, community partners, and external stakeholders such as probation or parole when applicable
- Participate in team meetings, case staffing, and other required organizational meetings
- Follow all ethical guidelines, including confidentiality, risk assessment, crisis intervention, and safety planning
- Travel locally as needed to support client care, attend meetings, or appear in court settings
- Maintain consistent attendance and actively engage in ongoing training and professional development
Qualifications
- Must be Colorado registered (DORA) LPCC, LSW, or LMFTC.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Experience with behavioral therapy approaches and evidence-based treatment modalities
- Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and family systems approaches
Skills
- Expertise in evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing
- Experience conducting mental health and substance use assessments
- Skilled in individual and group therapy facilitation
- Knowledge of therapeutic approaches: CBT, psychodynamic, humanistic, family systems
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and clinical documentation
Schedule
- Monday – Friday; options for 5/8s or 4/10s. Must work until 7:00 p.m. at least one night per week.
