Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Claims Supervisor with expertise in Virginia jurisdiction, to oversee a team of adjusters within a workers’ compensation environment. The position involves leading and developing the team, managing file reviews, authorizing reserves and settlements, and executing client service strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of approximately 5 workers' compensation adjusters focusing on both indemnity and medical-only claims.
- Conduct file reviews, authorize reserves/settlements, issue large payments, and drive team KPIs.
- Develop team through weekly one-on-ones and meetings, ensuring compliance with Workers’ Compensation laws.
- Assist in recruitment, interviewing and onboarding of new staff.
- Ensure optimal team performance through ongoing training and performance evaluations.
- Provide jurisdictional guidance on complex claims issues and recommend final resolutions.
- Participate in customer claim reviews and presentations.
- Potential overnight travel for client file reviews or office visits.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of claims handling experience.
- Current license or certification in Workers’ Compensation required.
- High School Diploma required; degree preferred.
- Municipality and national account experience preferred.
- Self-Insured Certificate preferred.

- Standard business hours with remote work options.
- Potential travel up to once per quarter is expected.
