Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Long Term Care Pharmacist to play a crucial role in their pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, and providing support and counsel to nursing facility staff and physicians. This role demands a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and the promotion of open communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes.
- Direct pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling.
- Ensure accuracy in prescription intake and efficient order fulfillment.
- Dispense medications and advise nursing facility staff and physicians on medication use.
- Counsel staff on health topics and provide information on medical supplies.
- Maintain storage and record systems for medicines or pharmaceuticals.
- Promote effective communication to improve pharmacy services and performance.
- Provide on-call support after hours, on weekends, and during holidays.
- Assist with developing quality improvements and prescription order accuracy.
- Support staff education and training evaluation and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
- License to practice pharmacy in the relevant state.
- Strong interpersonal skills and capability to maintain regular attendance.
- Knowledge of state, federal, and company policies and regulations.
