Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Long Term Care Pharmacist to play a crucial role in their pharmacy operations. The Pharmacist will be responsible for reviewing prescriptions, compounding medications, and providing support and counsel to nursing facility staff and physicians. This role demands a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and the promotion of open communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine necessary formulas and ingredients.
• Compound sterile and non-sterile medications using standard formulas and processes.
• Direct pharmacy employees engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling.
• Ensure accuracy in prescription intake and efficient order fulfillment.
• Dispense medications and advise nursing facility staff and physicians on medication use.
• Counsel staff on health topics and provide information on medical supplies.
• Maintain storage and record systems for medicines or pharmaceuticals.
• Promote effective communication to improve pharmacy services and performance.
• Provide on-call support after hours, on weekends, and during holidays.
• Assist with developing quality improvements and prescription order accuracy.
• Support staff education and training evaluation and development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• License to practice pharmacy in the relevant state.
• Strong interpersonal skills and capability to maintain regular attendance.
• Knowledge of state, federal, and company policies and regulations.

Skills

• Technical: Registered Pharmacist.
• Soft: Strong interpersonal skills.
