Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a key role in supporting both the clinical and administrative functions of our client's practice. This position requires someone who can work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team, consistently demonstrating professionalism, respect, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide both clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers within the practice
- Manage and coordinate assigned provider schedules throughout the day
- Oversee the medication and prescription line, ensuring timely and accurate handling of requests
- Route patient messages to the appropriate clinical staff (RN, PA, NP, or provider) when further assessment is needed
- Welcome patients and escort them from the waiting area to the appropriate clinical space
- Prepare patients for their appointments, including assisting with personal belongings and ensuring comfort in exam rooms
- Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), including vital signs, medications, weight, and medical history updates
- Ensure charts are complete and ready for providers, including necessary labs, imaging, and documentation
- Prepare exam rooms and equipment, and assist providers during in-office procedures
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly, addressing questions within scope of practice
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of OSHA standards and adhere to all compliance requirements
- Report any adverse medication reactions or events to the supervising provider
- Participate in required trainings and in-services, including annual OSHA training and health screenings
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the practice
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program
- Active LPN license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to handle a variety of practical situations with limited standardization
- Ability to interpret and follow instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Proficiency with computer and electronic medical record systems
- Commitment to treating patients, colleagues, and staff with dignity and respect
- Spanish speaking (preferred)
- Urology experience (preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, and perform physical movements such as bending, reaching, and lifting
- Frequently lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds
- Use standard office and medical equipment, including computers, phones, and clinical tools
- Local travel may be required during the workday, with occasional out-of-area or overnight travel
