Job Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Clinical Operations Manager to serve as a primary liaison between Sponsors/CROs and their internal Clinical Operations team. This sponsor-facing position focuses on driving executive alignment and managing high-level account success, ensuring clinical trials are activated and performing to the sponsor's expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Sponsor Management: Act as the "Voice of the Customer," managing the day-to-day relationship with Sponsors and CROs from site selection through study close-out.
- Operational Alignment: Drive clinical trial activation timelines and provide high-level data insights and progress metrics back to the sponsor.
- Strategic SME: Serve as a subject matter expert in clinical research to identify recruitment blockers, troubleshoot trends, and recommend resolution strategies.
- Study Feasibility: Partner with Life Science teams to review new protocols and assess fit for the 70+ site network.
- Thought Leadership: Facilitate webinars, "fireside chats," and represent the company at international conferences and investigator meetings.
Qualifications
- CRO Background (Mandatory): Must come from a CRO environment (e.g., PPD, IQVIA, Icon) to ensure familiarity with the pace of industry-sponsored research.
- Experience Level: 8+ years in Phase II-IV pharma-sponsored trials. Ideal for a Project Manager or an elite CRA looking to pivot into an Account Success/Management hybrid.
- Industry-Facing: Must have experience dealing directly with external Pharma sponsors (Academic/Self-study experience is insufficient).
- Therapeutic Focus (Preferred): Experience in GI, Hepatology, or Cardiology.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or healthcare field; 3+ years as a Clinical Team Manager or 5+ years as a CRA/CRC.
Skills
- Systems: Proficiency in CTMS (RealTime highly preferred) and data-driven reporting tools.
- Clinical Ops: Deep knowledge of study start-up, CDA, feasibility, and regulatory SOPs.
- Tech-Enabled Research: Ability to leverage AI-driven services to optimize site performance.
- Executive Presence: Ability to build credibility and deliver complex technical updates to high-level stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying "blockers" and troubleshooting cross-functional hurdles.
- Adaptability: Comfortable in a high-growth, start-up environment where processes are evolving.
- Relationship Building: Skilled at managing a diverse group of stakeholders across sponsors, CROs, and internal teams.
