Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Radiology Technician to coordinate incoming radiology exams for efficient review and reporting. The role includes providing telephone support for facilities, support staff, clinicians, and radiologists involved in radiologist services.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Process incoming exams, paperwork, and phone calls from contracted hospitals and outpatient imaging centers.
- Monitor worklists and filters within appropriate internal and hospital-based systems.
- Prepare exams for radiologist interpretation, verify exam and clinical information, and ensure receipt and linking of relevant prior studies for electronic reading.
- Prioritize exams and assign radiologists to meet required turnaround times.
- Send preliminary radiology reports to relevant departments and verify receipt.
- Answer and prioritize incoming calls for distribution to radiologists.
- Initiate phone calls for radiologists as requested.
- Consistently monitor and respond to emails and messaging platforms including Sectra, Teams, and Clario.
- Act as a liaison between radiologists, sites, and internal departments.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in a healthcare/medical clerical environment (e.g., front office, scheduling, phones).
- Experience with EPIC EHR system.
- Familiarity with radiology and radiology terminology.
- Preferred: Extensive radiology background.
Schedule / Shift
Training: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm (training will last about 4 weeks)
Post-training: Sunday-Wednesday 9pm-7:30am (overnight shift, 4x10s)
