Job Summary
Our client is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Medical Front Desk Specialist to manage the daily workflow of a busy multi-provider office. The ideal candidate will serve as the face of the clinic, ensuring a seamless experience for patients from check-in to check-out. The position requires a strong foundation in insurance verification and the ability to maintain composure and accuracy while multitasking in a high-volume setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Coordination: Efficiently manage the check-in and check-out processes, including greeting patients, updating demographics, and collecting co-pays or outstanding balances.
- Insurance Navigation: Utilize strong insurance knowledge to verify coverage, obtain necessary authorizations, and explain basic benefit details to patients.
- Front Desk Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support, including outbound calling to patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records requests.
- Workflow Management: Handle a busy office workflow by prioritizing tasks effectively to ensure minimal wait times for patients and optimal efficiency for the clinical team.
- Provider Liaison: Act as a central point of communication, preferably with experience working with multiple doctors simultaneously to coordinate various schedules and preferences.
Qualifications
- Proactive and detail-oriented individual capable of managing a busy front desk.
- Strong foundation in insurance verification and the ability to multitask in a high-volume environment.
Experience
- Ideally 2 years of experience in a medical front office setting; however, candidates with 1 year of experience who demonstrate exceptional technical and interpersonal skills will be considered.
Skills
- Strong multitasking skills with the ability to pivot between administrative tasks and patient needs without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and solid understanding of HIPAA compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with patients, providers, and insurance carriers.
Schedule/Shift
Monday - Friday, 8am-6pm.
