Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse responsible for placing peripheral lines, teaching infusion patients medication self-administration, charting daily lab results, and using electronic medical records effectively. The role involves overseeing patient care needs, ensuring equipment safety, and supporting professional practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Place peripheral lines and teach patients self-administration of medications, documenting in the medical record.
- Review and chart laboratory results, and relay information to physicians or patients.
- E-prescribe medications and communicate with pharmacies as per doctor's orders.
- Handle patient and other telephone inquiries.
- Review EMR charts, order lab results, and document necessary fields for eligible meaningful use.
- Conduct quality assurance and educational tasks as requested.
- Evaluate patient care needs using clinical judgment and set priorities.
- Monitor safety and effectiveness of environment and equipment.
- Facilitate effective interpersonal communications within the facility.
- Provide clinic coverage as needed.
- Adhere to standards of nursing practice, JCAHO, state and local laws, and company policy.
Qualifications
- 2 years of RN experience
- Strong vascular access skills, including IV starts, port access, and PICC line maintenance
- Outpatient experience preferred
- ER (Emergency Room) or critical care background preferred due to potential for adverse reactions
Skills
- Technical skills related to vascular access and EMR usage
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
