Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Cash Applications Manager to join their team. The primary responsibilities include processing credit card, insurance, client, and lock-box payments, managing Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) and Original Character Recognition (OCR) insurance payments and denials. The ideal candidate should be proficient in evaluating payer remits, making accurate adjustments, and ensuring precise payment postings.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing all credit card, insurance, client, lock-box payments, Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA), and Original Character Recognition (OCR) insurance payments and denials.
- Evaluate payer remits and denials for accurate posting and potential transfers to patient receivables.
- Determine adjustments, corrections, or patient liability, and ensure reimbursement accuracy against contractual requirements.
- Review, evaluate, and post all payments, denials, and adjustments from manual and electronic insurance remittance advices.
- Research and resolve missing, misdirected, and unidentified payments, coordinating transfers as necessary.
- Track and maintain balances of unidentified and prepaid accounts.
- Interpret and resolve written correspondence relating to payment transfers, adjustments, credit balances, refunds, and collection accounts.
- Understand and implement contractual requirements of the EOBs and payments in processing patient accounts.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (education will be verified).
- 1+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle (billing, A/R, Cash Posting, Refunds, etc.).
- Proficiency in reading and understanding EOBs along with denial codes.
- Experience posting denials and PLVs is preferred.

- Ability to evaluate financial documentation and implement precise payment processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
