Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform essential tasks in a healthcare setting. The primary responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, assisting healthcare providers during procedures, managing patient flow, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms by cleaning, sterilizing, and stocking supplies.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain vital signs, weight, height, health history, and symptoms.
- Assist physicians or APNs during exams and procedures.
- Perform Point of Care testing and administer intramuscular and Sub Q injections.
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
- Update and maintain medical records using EPIC system.
- Handle referrals, prior authorizations, and coordinate with pharmacies, labs, and imaging.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Some Medical Assistant experience.
- Ability to take manual blood pressure and administer injections.
- Experience performing EKGs.
- Problem-solving experience and positive attitude.
Skills
- Technical skills: Injection training, EKG performance, manual blood pressure taking.
- Soft skills: Maturity, problem-solving, initiative, proactiveness, time management, and organization.
- Preferred skills: Patient education and scheduling.
