Long-Term Care Pharmacist (Berlin, CT)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Pharmacist to support the evening workflow from 3:30 pm until midnight, along with every other weekend from 7 am to 6 pm. The position involves ensuring pharmacy management goals are continuously met and maintaining pharmacy operations in compliance with all applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day operations in the pharmacy, focusing on workflow production, quotas, and deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations, as well as third-party payer contract rules.
- Supervise pharmacy production staff to maintain workflow, security, and timely delivery schedules.
- Check for completeness and accuracy of all new and refill labels and orders.
- Supervise the preparation of all sterile IV drug products or solutions.
- Assist in handling controlled substances and maintain inventory for schedule II drugs.
- Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage as required.
- Comply with HIPAA and departmental policies on safety, attendance, and dress code.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- Current CT license to practice pharmacy in good standing.
- Proficiency in clinical interpretation including drug interactions and allergies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
