Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medication Nurse to administer medications and assess patients for treatment suitability. The nurse will work closely with physicians and counselors to ensure patients receive the appropriate care and monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications such as Methadone, Suboxone, Naltrexone, and others to patients through a controlled procedure.
- Assess patients for appropriateness of treatment and physical exam needs, reporting observations to healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and health conditions, draw blood for analysis, and administer TB tests.
- Evaluate adverse reactions to medications and issues related to drug overdose, HIV, and HCV.
- Handle infectious materials according to applicable policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Director of MAT and Nurse Programs.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two years of experience in nursing, nursing assistance, or a related field, with education substituting experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Possess and maintain a valid LPN or RN license with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA).
Skills
- Experience with medication assisted treatment and patients with substance use disorders.
- Possession of a valid intravenous (IV) certification.
- Experience in monitoring drug/alcohol treatment and working with electronic patient health records.
