Job Summary

Our client is seeking an Infusion Specialist for their ambulatory infusion clinic. The primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care, educating patients and caregivers on disease and drug-specific information, and collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team. Compliance with HIPAA and ACHC regulations is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting.
• Utilize the nursing process effectively to assess and care for patients.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner.
• Provide disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers.
• Comply with HIPAA and ACHC regulations.
• Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned for ambulatory infusion clinic nurses.
• Travel to outlying clinics as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services.
• Accurately perform all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice.
• 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• Current BLS certification.
• Proficient in partner programs such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to cope with an ambiguous, changing environment under pressure in a calm manner.

Skills

• V insertion and management.
• Infusion therapy administration including biologics, immunotherapy, antibiotics, and hydration.
• Central line care such as PICC lines, ports, and central venous catheters.
• Medication administration and monitoring.
• Recognition and management of infusion reactions.
• Phlebotomy and lab specimen collection.
