Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Infusion Specialist for their ambulatory infusion clinic. The primary responsibilities include providing comprehensive nursing care, educating patients and caregivers on disease and drug-specific information, and collaborating as part of an interdisciplinary team. Compliance with HIPAA and ACHC regulations is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team in an ambulatory infusion clinic setting.
- Utilize the nursing process effectively to assess and care for patients.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care in a professional, ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate manner.
- Provide disease and drug-specific education to patients and caregivers.
- Comply with HIPAA and ACHC regulations.
- Participate in an on-call rotation as assigned for ambulatory infusion clinic nurses.
- Travel to outlying clinics as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of medical/nursing practices by participating in educational in-services.
- Accurately perform all nursing duties according to the state nurse practice act, adhering to company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state(s) of practice.
- 1 year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
- Current BLS certification.
- Proficient in partner programs such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to cope with an ambiguous, changing environment under pressure in a calm manner.
Skills
- V insertion and management.
- Infusion therapy administration including biologics, immunotherapy, antibiotics, and hydration.
- Central line care such as PICC lines, ports, and central venous catheters.
- Medication administration and monitoring.
- Recognition and management of infusion reactions.
- Phlebotomy and lab specimen collection.
