Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Director of Patient Financial Services who will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the financial performance of the patient accounts department. This includes directing daily operations, reducing accounts receivable days, increasing cash collections, reducing bad debt, decreasing denials, and eliminating write-offs due to process issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct daily operations of the teams to improve financial metrics.
- Ensure workflows align with revenue cycle best practices.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficiency and compliance.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as denials and payer performance.
- Collaborate with departments to ensure seamless revenue cycle performance.
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team including performance evaluations and staff development.
- Maintain internal controls and audit readiness for all processes.
- Support cash collections and aged Accounts Receivable goals.
- Utilize revenue cycle and EHR systems.
- Organize meetings with business leaders to review payer issues and denials.
- Build relationships with stakeholders across departments and strategic partners.
- Investigate denials and assist with developing innovative strategies and solutions.
- Develop a high-performing team through benchmark process outcomes.
- Comply with HIPAA privacy and security standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in patient accounts management, including third party billing.
- Experience with finance in a large not-for-profit/academic health system.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience with senior management presentations.
- Financial management skills including analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate cross-departmental teams.
- Advanced communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to resolve complex problems and manage multifaceted revenue processes.
- Ability to build effective relationships across various levels of the organization.
- Epic and facility experience required.
