Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Service Representative to address patient inquiries, coordinate diagnostics, manage prescriptions, and provide technical guidance via telephone. This role involves active participation in care coordination, referrals, and maintaining medical records.

Key Responsibilities

• Address patient inquiries regarding symptoms, treatment protocols, and medications.
• Coordinate physician-ordered diagnostics including MRIs, lab work, and angiographies.
• Secure necessary insurance pre-authorizations and communicate results to the patients.
• Manage the prescription lifecycle through electronic and manual platforms.
• Facilitate outgoing referrals and maintain the integrity of the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Provide hands-on support as an ophthalmic technician during clinic hours.
• Process specialized administrative documentation such as FMLA and Worker’s Compensation paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma
• 1+ years of experience in a front office or back office role
• 1+ year of MA experience
• Experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred
• Knowledge of eye anatomy, testing, and disease terminology
• Strong Data entry skills

Skills

• Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Bilingual in English or Spanish preferred
