Job Summary
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for performing complex accounts receivable functions within our centralized billing environment. This role supports the financial health of our partner practices through diligent claim management.
Key Responsibilities
- Denial Management: Investigates and resolves denied claims through rigorous research and follow-up.
- AR Oversight: Manages claims across all aging buckets, including posting, appeals, and active AR recovery.
- Collections: Identifies delinquent accounts and pursues collections as necessary to maintain low AR days.
- Appeals Coordination: Gathers and coordinates necessary medical record documentation to support formal appeals.
- Payer Communication: Acts as a liaison with insurance carriers to provide accurate patient and billing information.
- Reporting: Prepares weekly status reports for management to track productivity and claim resolution trends.
- Biller Support: Assists with general medical billing duties, including claim submission, payment posting, and patient statement review.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of Medical AR Experience
- Experience with multiple payers, public and private
- Ability to work 40-50 claims on average per day
- Previous Physician Billing experience (preferred)
Shift and Schedule
- Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, in person
