Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Referral Specialist to efficiently manage communication and administrative processes, focusing on patient interactions, authorization requests, scheduling, and more. This role involves handling a significant volume of incoming calls and coordinating with both patients and healthcare specialists.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Communicating with patients.
- Closing out referrals.
- Submitting authorization requests through med-point management.
- Managing approximately 100 phone calls per day with around 35 calls per staff member.
- Handling both incoming and some outbound calls as required.
- Scheduling appointments and assisting with referral orders.
- Operating using EMR - Next Gen and ring central phone systems.
- Occasionally interacting in person with patients or specialists.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Experience with referrals and authorizations.
- Medical administrative experience and understanding general healthcare terminology.
- Spanish bilingual required.
- Thai speaking preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically Next Gen.
- Efficient use of ring central phone system.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required and Thai is preferred.
Schedule / Shift
Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The role starts with 5 days on-site training over two weeks and then transitions to a hybrid schedule with remote work about 3 days a week.
