Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to provide essential administrative and verification support regarding the licenses and credentials of medical staff members. Key responsibilities include maintaining detailed records, managing credentialing databases, and ensuring all medical staff possess valid legal licenses to practice within their specific specialties.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Processing: Review and screen initial and reappointment applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local standards.
- Verification: Conduct primary source verification and validate documents to ensure all credentialing elements meet quality standards.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve discrepancies or time gaps that could adversely impact a practitioner’s ability to be credentialed or enrolled.
- Database Management: Enter and maintain provider data in the credentialing database, ensuring data conforms to defined field uses.
- Health Plan Coordination: Submit provider rosters to health plans with delegated status and follow up as necessary to ensure accuracy.
- EHR Management: Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to research and resolve accounts pending credentialing actions.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required; Bachelors preferred.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in Credentialing/Provider Enrollment.
- Experience with Medicare (PECOS system), Medicaid (EPREP system), and CAQH.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm in person
