Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Worker to prepare and cook daily lunch meals for elders, ensuring compliance with dietary guidelines and food safety regulations. The ideal candidate will provide meals with respect and friendliness, maintain a clean kitchen environment, and manage inventory and kitchen operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook daily lunch meals according to approved menus and dietary guidelines.
- Plate and serve meals to elders in a respectful, friendly, and timely manner.
- Assist with special event meals or holiday programming as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
- Follow safe food handling, storage, and temperature control procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including dishwashing and sanitation.
- Complete required food temperature logs and cleaning checklists.
- Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs.
- Assist with ordering and receiving food deliveries.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any issues.
- Foster a warm and welcoming environment for elders.
- Communicate respectfully with participants, staff, and volunteers.
Qualifications
- Current Food Handler’s Permit (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
- Prior experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen, community program, senior center, healthcare facility, or similar setting.
- Food industry experience (preferred).
Schedule/Shift
4 10's schedule, Monday-Friday (7am-6pm).
