Job Summary
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Medical Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for Adult Mental Health psychiatric services. The role entails a 90% administrative and 10% clinical split, and responsibilities include overseeing psychiatric operations, quality, compliance, provider performance, and taking charge of growth initiatives such as transitioning towards Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) status, developing a Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, and potential expansion into Child & Adolescent services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for psychiatric services.
- Manage and oversee psychiatric operations, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Lead growth initiatives including CCBHC transition and MAT program development.
- Supervise a team of 10 providers and perform administrative functions.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide clinical care and medication management.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary care teams and strategic program development.
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution.
- Active Washington State medical license and DEA license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience treating acute or chronic mental illness.
- At least 2 years of leadership/managerial experience in a clinical setting.
- Experience with community behavioral health and serving immigrant/refugee populations is strongly preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years in treating mental illness.
- At least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role in a clinical setting.
Skills
- Strong leadership and administrative capabilities.
- Experience with community behavioral health and integrated care models.
- Knowledge of psychiatric best practices and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop psychiatric staff.
- Competency with EHR systems, with EPIC preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Cultural humility and trauma-informed care orientation.
Additional Requirements
- Monday–Friday, 8am-5pm, with possible hybrid schedule.
