Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. In this role, you will be the first point of clinical contact for our young patients and their families, ensuring a supportive and efficient environment from the moment they are called back to the exam room.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Rooming & Prep: Greet patients and families, escort them to exam rooms, and prepare them for the provider's visit.
- Pediatric Vitals: Accurately measure and record vital signs tailored to age groups, including blood pressure, pulse, and respirations.
- Growth Tracking: Perform precise measurements of height, weight, and head circumference, ensuring data is correctly plotted on growth charts.
- Clinical Triage: Conduct initial screenings by gathering chief complaints, medical history, and allergy information to assist providers in prioritizing care.
- Documentation: Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Procedural Support: Assist pediatricians with minor in-office procedures, immunizations, and basic point-of-care testing (e.g., rapid strep or flu tests).
Qualifications
- CMA Required
- MA diploma from a reputable vocational school or community college
- Acceptable MA Certifications: American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- EPIC proficiency preferred
- Experience in Pediatrics preferred
Schedule
- Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm
- 12 week contract with possibility of conversion
