RN Overview: The Occupational Health Registered Nurse is responsible for providing emergency care, first aid and episodic treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses within standing orders. This position works toward the prevention of illness & injury, protection from work related and environmental hazards, and promotion and restoration of health. Individual will maintain accurate medical records related to legal, regulatory and reporting requirements.
RN - Schedule: 1st shift, Monday-Friday: 8:30am-5pm
RN Day to Day:
- Working in an occupational health onsite clinic serving employees for an automotive manufacturing group
- Provide health services and administer surveillance evaluations to company employees, recording observations, assessments, and treatments in accordance with company policy.
- Perform routine nursing tasks associated with medical screenings, tests, and clinical procedures.
- Collect appropriate samples and specimens from patients, and perform hearing and vision screening following clinical protocols.
- Monitor patient vitals, behaviors, and assist in medical emergencies that may occur on company premises such as accidents, injuries, sudden illnesses, etc.
- Follow established policies and procedures, identify roadblocks, and effectively communicate issues to the medical team's attention.
- Provide patient-centered care with empathy, kindness, and professionalism.
- Communicate health screening results and physical rehabilitation programs information to patients requiring treatment, and assist with medication administration while managing medication protocols.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, ensuring compliance with regulatory developments and infection control protocols.
- Support emergency procedures preparation and adherence to infection control practices.
- Maintain an understanding of all relevant regulatory developments defining patient privacy and medical record confidentiality, infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infectious diseases, accreditation Standards, etc.
RN - Required Skills:
- 2+ years of experience ideally in occupational health nursing, urgent care, critical care, emergency room, or adult medical/surgical nursing
- Associate's Degree in nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) with unrestricted state licensure in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
