Job Summary
Our client is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant to join their healthcare team. The primary focus will be to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care and clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient care and clinical outcomes.
- Evaluates patients by assessing range of motion, muscle strength, and functional goals to develop individualized, appropriate treatment plans.
- Designs custom prosthetic and orthotic devices to maximize patient function and support daily activities, consulting with clinical peers to determine optimal design strategies.
- Measures, casts, and molds patients for custom orthoses and prostheses, ensuring anatomical accuracy and long-term comfort.
- Educates patients and families on the entire prosthetic/orthotic process, providing clear verbal and written instructions for device use, hygiene, and maintenance.
- Oversees and executes device fabrication, including pouring, stripping, and modifying positive molds based on specific clinical requirements.
- Performs technical fabrication tasks, such as vacuum-forming plastics, trimming, contouring metal joints/bars, and attaching strapping systems.
- Fits devices to patients, making necessary clinical adjustments to ensure optimal alignment, fit, and biomechanical functionality.
- Ensures accurate completion of compliance forms, verifying correct L-coding, descriptions, and patient signatures for inventory tracking and billing operations.
- Maintains thorough clinical documentation in patient charts to support compliance standards and medical reimbursement requirements.
- Provides comprehensive follow-up care to address anatomical changes, pressure areas, functional adjustments, or device wear-and-tear, ensuring high patient satisfaction.
- Fits and modifies complex off-the-shelf (OTS) orthoses by contouring metal stays, heat-flaring plastics, and altering soft goods to achieve an optimal outcome.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- At least four years of experience in a similar position and/or performing similar tasks preferred.
- ABC Certified Orthotist required.
Hours Per Week
40 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm)
