Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Phlebotomist responsible for performing routine blood drawing procedures, handling various specimens, and maintaining medical equipment. The role includes direct patient interaction to obtain laboratory records and maintaining the sterility of instruments and equipment.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Performs routine blood drawing procedures including venipuncture using standard equipment and safety devices.
- Handles specimens such as sperm, cultures, urine, and biopsies; coordinates with lab for specimen pickups.
- Interacts with patients to obtain laboratory records, explain procedures, and ensure patient cooperation.
- Cleans and sterilizes instruments daily, and cleans the autoclave regularly while maintaining a current log.
- Conducts biological indicator tests weekly and updates logs accordingly.
- Maintains medical equipment in good condition and arranges repairs when necessary.
Experience
- 1+ year of experience as a Phlebotomist.
Skills
- Willingness to help with additional tasks beyond blood draws.
- Women's health/fertility experience preferred.
Schedule / Shift
Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 1:00 PM
