Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Account Representative. The primary responsibility of this position includes managing the encounter review process, verifying and refining encounter data, and ensuring accurate documentation and narrative maintenance for clinician and payor access.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Encounter Review process, focusing on refining and verifying encounters.
- Ensure accurate documentation of narratives for clinician and payor access.
- Submit claims based on Medicaid encounters.
- Conduct insurance verification tasks.
- Contribute to follow-up and claim denials as needed.
- Assist with DAR updates in EPIC.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of medical billing experience required.
- Experience with outpatient Medicaid billing, including behavioral health and multispecialty practices, preferred.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 & CPT coding.
- Proficiency in EPIC and Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on sorting and filtering in Excel.
- Billing or related certification is preferred.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, ideally with exposure to behavioral or mental health claims.
Skills
- Technical: Medical billing systems, ICD-10 & CPT coding, EPIC software.
- Soft skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
