Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Payment Specialist to join their team. The primary responsibilities of this role include processing payments for insurance products, responding to telephonic inquiries, and providing assistance to members by navigating internal systems to manage and process transactions accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for taking both initial and ongoing payments for insurance products.
- Responds to, records, and processes telephonic payment inquiries in a call center environment.
- Navigates internal systems to identify the amount a member owes and determines the specific deadline for payment.
- Works within multiple computer programs simultaneously to manage member data accurately.
- Maintain a high level of service while managing fluctuating call volumes, which can exceed 1,000 calls per day during peak seasons.
- Required to provide consistent phone coverage during operating hours, typically from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Expected to maintain high technical expertise and quality scores while processing back-to-back calls.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma at least.
- 1 year minimum experience in taking payments in retail, call center role, or finance.
- Previous experience in a call center environment is highly preferred.
Additional Requirements
- On the phone for 8 hours a day, with some evenings from 10 AM to 7 PM.
- Potential for extended hours/weekends during peak enrollment seasons (January).
- Hybrid capability after 5 weeks of training/shadowing.
