Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our client's team. The position involves providing comprehensive medical services, including primary care, infectious disease management, preventative care, and gender-affirming care. The goal is to foster an inclusive and welcoming clinical environment for a diverse patient population.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive medical services, including primary care, infectious disease management (HIV/HCV/STI), preventative care (PrEP), and gender-affirming care.
- Fosters an inclusive and welcoming clinical environment for a diverse patient population regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.
- Conducts thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Manages on-site wound care and provides clinical supervision for related procedures.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic studies, including laboratory tests and imaging.
- Prescribes pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, including controlled substances, in accordance with state and federal laws.
- Provides daily review of laboratory results, imaging reports, and emergency department findings.
- Manages patient follow-up, determines further treatment options, and refers patients to specialty services as necessary.
- Documents all clinical services and recommendations accurately within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Adheres to established clinical protocols, HIPAA regulations, and OSHA safety standards.
- Educates patients on chronic disease management, primary health concerns, and medication adherence strategies.
- Supervises mid-level providers and clinical students.
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of experience in primary care delivery within a clinical setting.
- Experience providing infectious disease care (HIV/STI) and gender-affirming care.
- Previous experience functioning in an Advanced Practice Provider (NP) capacity.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of infectious disease pathology, including disease progression, co-occurring conditions, and modern treatment modalities.
- Ability to manage complex treatment options for specialized patient populations.
- Competence in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Certifications
- Active and valid state registration with the appropriate Board of Nursing Advanced Practice Registry.
- Current certification by a recognized national certifying body as required for advanced practice.
- Active state-issued DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
