Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Orthopedic Coder II (Remote) to be responsible for accurately reading and interpreting medical record documentation. This position involves assigning accurate and complete CPT®, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, as well as modifiers and units, to source documents for claim submission.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret medical record documentation in support of surgical procedures, office encounters, diagnostic and pathological services.
- Assign accurate and complete CPT®, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes, as well as modifiers and units.
- Respond to provider’s questions and provide written communication to educate providers in correct coding and documentation.
- Work on specialty specific work queues, Orthopedics.
- Review and correct edits for timely submission to payers.
- Participate in education programs and monthly department meetings.
- Maintain a coding accuracy rate of 90% or higher.
- Ensure compliance with the department’s required production levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- CPC or CCS-P certification required.
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional coding experience in Orthopedics.
Skills
- Proficiency in Epic software.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to choose hours between 5 am and 9 pm, 40 hours per week.
- Fully remote position, excluding candidates from California, Connecticut, Illinois, Maine, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New York, and Washington.
