Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Patient Account Representative to partner with third-party health insurers to ensure timely and complete payments of outstanding insurance claims. The role involves managing and troubleshooting payments, documenting claim files, and communicating regularly with third-party payers.
Key Responsibilities
- Insurance Claim Service: Coordinate and process payments from insurance carriers, document claim files, and engage in regular communications with third-party payers.
- Claim Status Management: Monitor the status of insurance claims, correct and resubmit claims, and identify payer trends.
- Claim Appeals: Process timely appeals of denied or rejected insurance claims, resolve denials, and interact with insurance carriers and other relevant parties.
- Data and Information Management: Maintain accurate records, generate reports, and update discrepancies in systems.
- Meet productivity and revenue goals assigned by the department Manager or Supervisor.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a medical billing or health insurance role preferred.
- Ability to solve problems and answer questions quickly.
- Computer proficiency in Windows-based applications.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems such as Nextgen PM and Epic preferred.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in larger practices is beneficial for handling higher volumes.

- Knowledge of insurance guidelines, medical documentation, and third-party reimbursement.
- Proficiency in computer applications and electronic medical records systems.
- Strong time management, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
