Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Auto Claims Adjuster to manage automobile physical damage claims effectively. This role involves estimating reviews, cost control, negotiating settlements, and ensuring regulatory compliance, all while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Estimate Review & Cost Control: Reviews estimates to ensure cost-effective solutions using aftermarket and salvage parts.
- Negotiation: Engages with claimants, insurance carriers, and attorneys to reach equitable settlements.
- Total Loss & Salvage Management: Handles total loss claims with a focus on salvage sales.
- Rental Monitoring: Manages vehicle rentals during repair or total loss processes.
- Subrogation: Pursues subrogation and arbitration opportunities to recover costs.
- Documentation: Ensures timely reporting of claim information for analysis.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintains knowledge of relevant laws and reporting requirements.
- Customer Service: Provides superior service to policyholders, agents, and co-workers.
Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance theory and practices.
- Familiarity with automobile estimating processes and total loss handling.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- 3+ years of experience handling automobile physical damage claims.
Skills
- Proficiency in either Mitchell or CCC estimating software.
- Prior experience working as an auto damage adjuster in the field.
- Experience handling claims specifically within the state of Virginia.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
