Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for preparing examination rooms, assisting patients and physicians, performing Point of Care testing, and managing patient flow. The role involves direct patient interactions, including obtaining vital signs and health histories, as well as administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and coordinating with pharmacies, labs, and imaging.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning, sterilizing, and stocking supplies.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist in gathering vital signs, weight, height, and health history.
• Assist physicians or APNs during exams and procedures.
• Perform Point of Care testing and administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Update and maintain records using EPIC.
• Handle referrals and prior authorizations and coordinate with pharmacies and labs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Some MA experience.
• Problem-solving and clinical experience.
• Experience with administering injections and performing EKGs.
• Ability to take manual blood pressure and injection training.

Skills

• Positive attitude and strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in using the EPIC system preferred.
